18th-street-grinding

Motorists are advised of a road grinding project northwest of Washington that’s set to begin next week.

The Washington County Engineer’s Office announces that work will begin on Monday, September 27th on West 18th Street from Highway 1 and 92 east to North Marion Avenue. The road will be closed to thru traffic and traffic will be detoured around the project using Highway 1, West 5th Street, and North Marion Avenue. The public is reminded to use the posted detour and use caution while traveling the detour route. Work is expected to be completed in two to three weeks, weather permitting. West Fork Grinding of Victor is the project contractor for the grinding which will increase the longevity of the pavement and improve the ride. Questions may be directed to the engineer’s office at (319) 653-7731.
