A South Iowa Cedar League volleyball match went the distance in Keota on Thursday with the home Eagles falling short against Tri-County in five sets. 

The Eagles started out strong with a pair of close set victories of 26-24 and 25-23 in the first two. The Trojans rallied back for three straight victories with set scores of 25-14, 25-21, and 15-6. Tri-County’s Macy Schmidt did a bulk of the damage with 14 kills. Taylor Kindred led Keota with 12 kills, Makenzie Jackson had 12 assists,  Cassandra Swantz was everywhere with 22 digs, and the team was successful on 75 of 91 serves with 14 aces. 

Keota is now 5-6 and they travel to face Iowa Valley (6-18) tonight.
