The Iowa Associated Press has released their latest set of football rankings ahead of week six on the high school schedule and a pair of KCII area teams remain represented. In class 1A, the Sigourney-Keota Cobras have moved up a spot to No. 3 this week. SK is unbeaten at 5-0 and riding high after a marquee road win at No. 9 Pella Christian last Friday 20-13. The Snakes were led in the win by Cade Molyneux with 39 carries for 194 yards and a trio of touchdowns. Cade Striegle posted five and a half tackles and Cole Kindred recovered a fumble with Levi Crawford picking off a pass. The Cobras are on a 12 game regular season winning streak. SK has another big one this week when they host the surprisingly unbeaten and No. 10 ranked Cardinal Comets at the Snake Pit in Sigourney.
The WACO Warriors are also unbeaten on the season, checking in this week at 6-0 and No. 9 in the Iowa Associated Press 8-man poll. WACO secured a signature win last Friday, spoiling Homecoming for No. 14 New London 7-0. The only points in the contest were a fourth quarter touchdown pass from Simeon Reichenbach to Jonah Clark as the Warrior defense pitched the shut out, allowing just 181 total yards to the explosive Tigers. Clark and Drew Diers had nine tackles each and Tyler Sutton recovered a fumble and picked off a pass. The Warriors are back on the field this week when they host Lone Tree.
