The Kalona City Council will consider the hire of a new librarian during their regular meeting today.

The city is looking to hire Samantha McGuire to fill the role as the Circulation Librarian at the Kalona Public Library. Other items on the agenda include setting a date for a public hearing on the designation of the expanded Kalona Urban Renewal Area and on an Urban Renewal Plan amendment, approval of the street finance report for the 2020-21 fiscal year, acknowledgement of the Iowa Department of Transportation-approved driveway access for Hershberger Oil and an update on the Washington County Riverboat Foundation quarterly funds.

The council will meet at 7 p.m. at Kalona City Hall.
