Main Street Washington and the Washington Chamber of Commerce are teaming up to host a spooky good time for the second year in a row with Hocus Pocus in the Park.
There will be a night full of Halloween and fall-themed activities from 5-7:30 p.m. in Washington’s Central Park including pony and hayrack rides, a magician show, costume parade, fall photoshoot, face painting, food, and candy giveaways. Instead of a trick-or-treat around the square event, Main Street Washington Director Sarah Grunewaldt explains this event is being held a few weeks ahead of Halloween to take advantage of possible warmer weather and to not conflict with other events later this month, “Why not let your kids get multiple uses out of their costumes and show them off? I know it’s early for some parents but it doesn’t have to be their final Halloween costume. A lot of people have costume boxes in their houses or dress up clothes they keep, dress up your kids and bring them down. There’s no contest or anything, it’s just a parade to show off what you got.”
Don’t forget your blankets and lawn chairs because at 7:30 p.m. there will be a showing of the 1991 live-action film The Addams Family. The KCII Big Red Radio will be taking part, playing howling tunes from 4-7 p.m. For more information on this and other October events in Washington visit here.
