A Bloomfield man has been sentenced to prison for a drug offense in Washington County.

Court records show that 44-year-old Jacob Lucas Comer pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance – third or subsequent offense – a class D felony, and must serve up to five years in prison. This sentence is to be served concurrently with a parole violation case in Polk County. A $1,025 fine with a 15% surcharge was suspended, and Comer was found not to have the reasonable ability to pay category B restitution. A charge of possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor was dismissed. The charges stemmed from a September 26, 2020 incident in which security personnel at 3184 Highway 22, Riverside found a backpack in the parking lot that contained Comer’s driver’s license, a plastic bag containing 2.01 grams of methamphetamine, a smoking pipe, digital scale, and a cell phone.
