The fine arts department at Highland High School and middle school are finding a unique way to raise funds for their department. The Huskies are turning the high school into a mattress showroom on Sunday, October 24th from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Samantha Holden with Highland schools spoke with KCII News about the idea for the event and how the proceeds will help students, “Our choir director Jennifer McClenahan, was invited to one of these events at a different school about a year ago. While she was there, she talked to the guy that was running it, so she was our connection to him. Our choir and band groups are working on going on a music trip to Florida in March of 2022. So the funds will go toward that trip.”
Products offered for the fundraiser include brand name mattresses and are manufactured to order with a non-prorated factory warranty. These items are priced below retail and available in custom sizes. Accessories such as premium pillows, sheets, mattress protectors, bed frames and power options will be available for purchase. The products are available for delivery 2-3 weeks after the fundraiser concludes.
