Adults can embrace their inner trick-or-treat-er at the Washington Chamber of Commerce’s third annual “Choctoberfest” event.
The chamber is excited to return to the event’s original format after last year’s was expanded over a few days to promote social distancing. Participants high school age and older can take a walk around downtown Washington and enjoy different chocolate samplings and other fall treats at participating businesses. Chamber Event Coordinator Alisha Davis assures that each booth will have a unique offering, “So we make sure that everything’s different, and this year honestly nobody really wanted to do the same thing, so it worked out really nice. I don’t know if we really have it down after a few years or what.”
Davis is looking forward to several new businesses participating reflecting the recent growth in retail establishments downtown this year. Choctoberfest takes place from 5-8 p.m. this Thursday with a $5 fee to participate, and the chance to win a downtown gift basket. This also coincides with the final Washington Farmers Market event of the season, and Washington County Hospital and Clinics’ “V-I-Pink” event.
