Monday brought a cool, wet start to the week in Washington County.
The KCII Studios measured 3.25 inches of rain, while the National Weather Service measured nine-tenths of an inch Monday with .78 inch Tuesday. This was the first rainfall recorded in the area since September 21st. The monthly normal for October is 1.18 inches of precipitation. September saw a total of 1.91 inches of precipitation, while the normal is 3.6 inches. Washington also saw the coldest temperatures of October so far on Tuesday, with a high of 64 degrees and a low of 48. The record high for October 12th is 86 degrees set in 1975, and the record low is 27 set in 1909. A slight chance for thunderstorms are predicted for Wednesday with showers and sunny skies trading off for the rest of this week. Listen to KCII for weather updates.
