Small non-farm businesses in Washington, Iowa, Keokuk, and Louisa counties are eligible to apply for low-interest federal disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration.

These loans are to offset economic losses because of reduced revenues caused by drought in these counties that began May 17th. Small non-farm businesses, agricultural cooperatives, and businesses engaged in aquaculture and most private non-profit organizations of any size may qualify for Economic Injury Disaster loans of up to $2 million to help meet financial obligations and operating expenses which could have been met had the disaster not occurred. Businesses primarily engaged in farming or ranching are not eligible for SBA assistance and should contact the Farm Services Agency for U.S. Department of Agriculture assistance. The deadline to apply is June 13th, and you can find more information here.
