A wreck totaled two vehicles at the north junction of Highway 1 and 92 Sunday afternoon.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office states at about 1:37 p.m. Gary Fox of Brighton was driving a GMC Sonoma pickup truck southbound on Highway 1 when an eastbound Mazda CX9 driven by a juvenile on Highway 92 stopped at the stop sign intersection and then proceeded through. The front end of Fox’s vehicle struck the driver side of the Mazda, and Fox was transported by private vehicle to Washington County Hospital and Clinics for treatment of injuries. The juvenile driver whose mother was sitting in the passenger seat told law enforcement that he believed the intersection was a four-way stop which resulted in his failure to yield upon entering a roadway. Both vehicles were towed from the scene, and the juvenile has a pending citation for failing to yield. Washington Police, Fire, and EMS departments, Washington County Rescue, Washington County Ambulance Service and Bulltown Towing assisted at the scene.
