The Riverside City Council approved a grant agreement with a local wedding venue during their regular meeting on October 18th.
The council entered into a five-year general fund economic development grant agreement with Copper Creek Ridge. The agreement states that the city will pledge $8,000 to the venue each year over the next five years to assist in operations and maintenance of the event center. This includes the purchase of new property and the construction of a new parking lot. Requirements that were approved for the event center to receive the funding include the center hosting a minimum of six events per year, employing six part-time equivalent staff members, and providing an annual report to the city. If any of these requirements are not met, Copper Creek Ridge will have 30 days after receiving notice from the city to fix any infractions. Any infraction not fixed within the 30 day period could result in the city withholding the funds.
