November is here and the Wellman-Scofield Public Library has new activities this month for residents of all ages to enjoy.

Throughout the next four weeks, the library will have take and make fall and Thanksgiving themed crafts for kids to enjoy such as hand turkeys and different leaf crafts. The week prior to Thanksgiving the library is celebrating Patron Appreciation Week. Residents can fill out a form with their name and what they are thankful for. At the end of the month an adult and children’s name will be drawn for a free book. Director Erin Campbell says that if they receive forms from teens then they will also have a winner for a teens category. She explains why the library is holding this event, “We just want to show our patrons that we appreciate them coming and that we’re thankful for them. Because we wouldn’t be a library without them.”

Members of the library staff will be visiting Sunrise Daycare to do storytime with the kids every Wednesday this month. Discussions and plans to partner with the Parkside Activities Center have begun to provide a senior storytime. Campbell says they hope to begin the week prior to Thanksgiving. She adds that the library will be closed on Veterans Day, Thanksgiving and Black Friday.
