A successful season on the field for the Mid-Prairie football team has translated into a bevy of postseason awards from class 2A District 6. Eight Golden Hawks were recognized for their play this season.

Three Golden Hawks were named to the first team including senior utility player Tyler Helmuth. Helmuth was in the backfield on offense for Mid-Prairie, accumulating 771 yards and 16 touchdowns on 106 carries. That number of scoring runs was sixth in class 2A. His 7.3 yard per carry average was ninth among running backs with at least 100 carries. Defensively, he posted 25 and a half tackles, including three and a half for loss and an interception.

Senior Justice Jones was a first team pick at linebacker. He led the Golden Hawks with 69 and a half tackles. The third straight year he has led the Mid-Prairie defense in stops. His 13 tackles for loss placed him 10th in class 2A. Jones also forced a fumble and picked off a pass.

Junior Kaden Meader was a first team selection on the offensive line. He was part of a Mid-Prairie unit that paved the way for 3,022 total yards of offense, 2,007 on the ground, and 1,115 through the air. The Golden Hawks 47 offensive touchdowns were fifth most in 2A.

Second team selections included senior Will Cavanagh at quarterback. The Golden Hawk signal caller was 88 of 145 through the air for 1,086 yards, 14 touchdowns and five interceptions. His 61% completion percentage was sixth best in class 2A. His five interceptions were fourth fewest in 2A. Cavanagh also rushed for 349 yards and five touchdowns on 85 carries.

Senior wide receiver Jack Pennington was a second team all-district choice. Pennington finished the season with a team best 37 catches for 366 yards and five touchdowns.

Mid-Prairie junior Braden Hartley was a second team selection at linebacker. Hartley was second on the team with 47 and a half tackles, 36 solo and seven for loss. He recovered two fumbles and picked off a pass. Hartley was also a big part of the offense, finishing with 582 yards and 10 touchdowns on 80 carries.

The Hawks had a pair of players named honorable mention with senior wide receiver Jarrett Hoffman and junior defensive lineman Terry Bordenave. Hoffman pulled in 12 passes for 183 yards and three touchdowns during the year. He added 28 and a half tackles as a cornerback on defense. Bordenave was a disrupter on defense this season posting 37 and a half tackles, five for loss. Mid-Prairie ended the season in the second round of the 2A playoffs with a 6-4 overall record.
