Schools in the KCII listening area have taken center stage with their fall theater performances. 

Mid-Prairie is performing the musical “Meet Me in St. Louis,” based on the 1944 film starring Judy Garland. Highland is performing the Stephen Sondheim-composed musical “Into the Woods Jr.” and Hillcrest Academy is performing the Phil Olsen play, “Mom’s Gift.” Mid-Prairie thespian  Alex Burnham encourages all residents to attend live, local theater, “I started high school not as a theater person. But through just going to them I’m like, ‘I see why people like these.’ If you’ve never been to a live show before, give it a shot.”

Mid-Prairie’s final performances are at 7 p.m.  tonight at and 2 p.m. tomorrow at the high school. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. Highland will have their final performance at 7 p.m. tonight with Hillcrest’s final productions at 7 p.m. tonight and 2 p.m. tomorrow. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students at both shows and $5 for senior citizens at Hillcrest.
