A Mount Pleasant resident was recently arrested for charges from a 2018 Washington County incident.

Court records show that on September 5, 2018, a search warrant was executed in the 2500 block of Redwood Avenue in Washington. The defendant, then 27-year-old Matthew Allen Williams of Kalona, was at the residence at that time. A bag was found containing a digital scale, numerous small clear plastic jewel bags, a bag containing 4.56 grams of methamphetamine, and a bag containing 7.88 grams of marijuana. Fifteen-hundred dollars cash was found on Williams, and the suspected controlled substances were sent to the Division of Criminal Investigation Lab for analysis. The substances were confirmed to be meth and marijuana. Charges were then filed for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, a class C felony, and possession with intent to distribute marijuana, a class D felony, on June 30th, 2021. He was taken into custody on November 4th to be held on a $15,000 cash-only bond. KCII will bring you more information as it becomes official.
