Mid-Prairie libero Dakota Mitchell made a big impact for Golden Hawk volleyball in her first season in black and gold. The Golden Hawk freshman ended the season in the top 10 in 3A in several offensive and defensive categories. For the Mid-Prairie defense, Mitchell finished with 463 digs, sixth most in class 3A. She was third in the state, averaging 5.6 digs per set. Her highwater mark for digs came in a five set win over Cascade on September 16th when she put up 36.
From the service line, Mitchell was fourth in 3A with 60 aces. Her average of .7 aces per set was also fourth in the state. Her best game from the back line also came against the Cascade Cougars on September 16th when she finished with eight. Mitchell was named to the elite All-River Valley Conference team last week.
