The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk football team wrapped up one of the best seasons on the offensive side of the ball in program history last week. Mid-Prairie put themselves in the top 10 in four different statistical categories in the more than 60 year history of the program. The 2021 Golden Hawks broke the school record for pass completion percentage for a single season. This year senior Will Cavanagh and junior Collin Miller combined to go 90/147 for 1,115 yards and 14 touchdowns to just five interceptions. That 61.2% mark breaks the previous record of 59.9% from 2013. The 90 total completion number is fifth in Mid-Prairie history, just ahead of 88 in 2002 and behind 92 from 1999. The all-time record for connections is 127 from 2013.

The Golden Hawk offense found the end zone 48 times this season, 34 on the ground and 14 through the air. That total touchdown number is fourth most in the history of the program, matching the mark from 1976 and 2013. The Mid-Prairie record for touchdowns in a single season is 67, scored by the 2008 Golden Hawks. Mid-Prairie put up 336 points in the recently completed season, sixth most in a single campaign, just behind 354 from 2013 and ahead of 335 from 1976. The all-time record for points in a season for Mid-Prairie is 500 scored in 2008. This year’s output was headlined by 66 in a win at Central Lee, the fourth most points in a single game in Mid-Prairie history. The Hawks ended the year with a 6-4 record.
