Mid-Prairie receiver Jack Pennington wrapped up one of the best seasons and careers ever for a Golden Hawk. In his senior season he caught 37 passes for 366 yards and five touchdowns. His career numbers add up to 43 catches for 420 yards and six scores. His 37 grabs in 2021 are sixth most in Mid-Prairie history for a single season, ahead of Nate Truelson’s 36 from 1987 and behind Lonnie Yoder’s 1985 and Justin Schwartz 2017. As part of that number, his eight receptions in the Hawk’s second round playoff game at West Marshall are tied for seventh most in a single contest. Pennington’s five touchdown catches this year are eighth most in Mid-Prairie history and his six career touchdowns are ninth. The Golden Hawks finished 2021 with a 6-4 record.
