Three fire departments responded to a house fully engulfed in flames Thursday in Washington.

Washington County Ambulance Service states that at 5:52 p.m. agencies were dispatched to the 500 block of North Avenue D for smoke coming from a residence. The ambulance service arrived on scene three minutes later, and all parties had safely evacuated the home prior to it becoming fully engulfed. No injuries were reported. Cause of the fire is unknown at this time, and traffic was blocked for about three hours while crews were on site. Washington, Ainsworth, and Kalona fire departments, Washington County Rescue, Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Washington County Emergency Management, City of Washington staff, and Alliant Energy responded to the scene.
