Time is nearly up for Washington residents and business owners to sign up their festive display for the Washington Chamber of Commerce’s second annual contest.

The “Washington Wonderland” holiday light and decorating contest lasts November 27-January 1st. Chamber Event Coordinator Alisha Davis shares how this attraction has evolved from its inception, “So last year instead of doing the Tour of Homes we decided we still wanted to do a decorating contest. So we had a couple different contests for businesses and homes to decorate and it ended up being a really great new event that we didn’t want to lose this year.”

The Chamber is combining participating homes and businesses into one free map that will be shared online, and the public can pick one up at the Chamber office or Chamber member businesses throughout the holiday season. Davis hopes families will again enjoy this free guided holiday tour they can take throughout the community. They can also vote for the people’s choice awards for best display. The Chamber Tour of Homes Committee will also select a business and home winner to each receive a $100 gift card from Ace-N-More.

Registration deadline for Washington Wonderland is Monday, November 22nd, so Davis encourages all pseudo-Clark Griswolds to contact her as soon as possible to get on the map. You can hear more about the Chamber’s holiday events during today’s Halcyon House Washington Page.
