The Riverside City Council will be holding a work session Monday to discuss the creation of a new city employee.

A work session will be held prior to the start of a special meeting to discuss the creation of a Paramedic-Firefighter-Fire Inspector position for the city. This would be a full-time salaried position and would require the employee to work 4 to 12 hour work days and report to the fire chief and city administrator. Work would be split with fire inspector duties for 20% of the time with the remaining time served as a paramedic and firefighter.

The special meeting following the work session includes resolutions for employee health insurance, Delta dental and short-term and long-term life insurance benefits. The council will meet at the Riverside Fire Station at 6 p.m.
