Purple ribbons can be spotted in the cities of Washington, Fairfield, and Sigourney to bring awareness to a November observance.
Hospice of Washington County has decorated these downtowns in three of the seven counties they serve for Hospice and Palliative Care Month. The non-profit organization accepts patients with or without insurance. This is made possible by several fundraisers they hold throughout the year, and reimbursement from Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance. Alongside the ribbons are small signs posted sharing facts about hospice and palliative care. Hospice of Washington County invites the public to take a selfie with one of these signs and use the tag #hospiceofwashco for a chance to win a pair of tickets to their winter soup supper fundraiser, and a gift basket. Also coming up is their second annual sweet and salty treat online auction lasting December 6-10. You can find more information by visiting here.
