A trio of Washington High School cheerleaders showed off their talents earlier this month by participating in the 2021 Iowa Cheer Honor Squad. 

The Iowa Cheerleading Coaches’ Association and the Iowa High School Athletic Association teamed up to sponsor the event held on November 18th. Washington’s Payton Anderson, Yanetzy Estela, and Ravyn Peterson were apart of the festivities and performed at halftime of a state championship football game in Cedar Falls. A total of 250 cheerleaders from across the state performed with participants needing to be juniors or seniors and on the varsity cheer squad. 

The Demon cheer team is coached by Erin Smith.
