A tall task awaited the WACO girls’ basketball team on opening night last week with a trip to No. 7 Burlington Notre Dame and the home Nikes rolled to a 70-24 win.
Notre Dame got going early with a 24-6 advantage after one and a 44-11 lead at the break that continued to grow. The Warriors shot just 21% from the floor and was minus 18 in the turnover margin. Ellah Kissell led all scorers with 17 points including a trio of threes. Grace Coble hauled in five rebounds and had three blocks while Emma Wagler dished out three assists.
The Warriors start the year 0-1 and get back on the court tomorrow at Holy Trinity (1-0).
