The City of Kalona welcomed a new member to their staff following the city council’s meeting on November 15th.
After the departure of their former utility billing clerk, Amy Richenberger, the city hired Heather Trimpe to fill the role. Kalona City Administrator Ryan Schlabaugh says he feels confident about their new staff member. As the Wellman Chamber of Commerce president, Trimpe shares what it means to her to be a part of both communities, “I grew up in Wellman so I’ve always been a part of Wellman/Kalona. The school district, you go to school with kids from Kalona and kids from Wellman. So I’ve always been a part of those two communities, they work hand in hand. Ryan [Schlabaugh] and Kelly [Litwiller] work together for many things for the towns. So this is just a good fit and I really feel like it’s a good fit for me.”
Prior to taking the position in Kalona, Trimpe worked as an accounts receivable clerk for six years. Her first day was November 29.
