A Richland residence is considered a total loss following a fire Monday afternoon. 

The Washington County Communications Center received reports at approximately 3:08 p.m. of a garage engulfed in flames at 193 Prost Avenue in the unincorporated Rbuio community. Richland Fire Chief Mitch Ehrenfelt says the fire spread to the rest of the household and that it could not be subdued in time to save it from burning down. The residents were on the premises at the time of the fire but no injuries were reported. Cause of the fire has not been determined. The Brighton and Keota fire departments assisted at the scene. The Richland Fire Department responded to a second report of a fire at the same residence later that night. Ehrenfelt stated that it was just kindling from the rubble pile that ignited small flames and that no assistance was needed.
