The first Southeast Conference wrestling meet of the winter for Washington went as planned on Thursday when the host Demons took down Fairfield 49-27.
Washington went 6-4 in contested matches with four of the victories decided by pins. Aaron Boone had a methodical 8-0 win at 126 lbs and Jude Carter pinned his opponent in 3:55 at 132 lbs. The middle weights were dominated by the Demons with Chase Greiner winning by fall at 160 lbs in 1:14, Lukus Rickey doing the same at 170 lbs in 5:02, and Logan Frazer making quick work at 182 lbs with a pin in 50 seconds. Brayden Hartman put the finishing touches on the conference triumph with a 4-2 decision at 285 lbs. Curtis Stender won both of his junior varsity matches at 220 lbs with two pins that totaled 6:34.
The Demons improve to 9-3 and they travel to Mount Vernon tomorrow for a tournament.
