An Iowa City man was recently arrested on a Washington County charge.

The Washington County Communications Center received word from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office at 2:41 a.m. Thursday, that they had located 61-year-old Phillip Halliburton. He was arrested for possession of contraband in a correctional institution, a class D felony, and transported to the Washington County Jail. The criminal complaint states on September 10th, a Washington County Sheriff’s Deputy was serving a warrant on Halliburton at the county jail when he discovered a small plastic bag of a white crystalline substance said to be methamphetamine in Halliburton’s right foot sock. The substance was sent for testing, and came back positive as .55 grams of meth. He’s also charged with possession of marijuana first offense, a serious misdemeanor, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor.
