It was a South Iowa Cedar League sweep Friday night in Sully when Lynnville-Sully took two from the Keota basketball teams. 

The girls game went in the home Hawks (6-4) favor by a 42-35 score. The Eagles brought the defense early by pitching a shutout through the first quarter and leading 12-11 at the break. A 16-10 third and 15-13 fourth in favor of Lynnville-Sully was the difference in the conference showdown. The Hawks’ Majesty Vos had a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. 

The Hawk boys (5-3) raced out to an 18-10 advantage after one and 32-20 lead at the break that continued to grow to a 57-37 victory. Keota’s Cole Kindred finished with nine points, Sawyer Stout had eight, and Evan Vittetoe brought in six boards. 

The Eagle girls drop to 2-8 overall and 2-4 in the SICL. The boys are 5-4 and 3-3 in the league. Both teams close out the first half of the season tonight against BGM.
