A Nichols man was arrested on a Washington County warrant Monday.

Court documents show that 26-year-old Ulices Montiel Munoz pleaded guilty to an amended charge of operating while intoxicated first offense on April 20th in Muscatine County and later pleaded guilty to operating while intoxicated second offense on October 13th in Washington County. On October 28th, a Washington County Sheriff’s Deputy was advised of a vehicle in the ditch on Highway 218 southbound. After locating the vehicle the deputy was advised that the individual had been walking down the road and was picked up by a semi. The individual later identified as Munoz, was located at the Pilot Truck Stop in Mount Pleasant. Munoz admitted that he was driving the vehicle and that he had  used cocaine as recently as the day prior. On December 16th, a blood test by the Division of Criminal Investigation came back as positive for methamphetamine, amphetamine and Lorazepam. Munoz is charged with OWI third offense, a class D felony, driving while license is revoked, and assault on persons in certain occupations, both serious misdemeanors, and probation violation. Bond was set at $5,000 cash only for the OWI charge. KCII will bring you more information as it becomes official.
