Two people were injured in a single-vehicle wreck between Brighton and Washington Sunday morning.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office states at about 11:19 a.m. Stanley Knipfer of Keosauqua was driving a GMC 1500 pickup truck northbound on Highway 1 south of 300th Street when a medical condition caused Knipfer to leave the roadway to the east, striking a fence line. The truck then entered a farm field, struck an additional fenceline, went airborne crossing 300th Street, and struck the north embankment. The truck came to a rest on the fenceline of the farm field on the north side of 300th Street. Knipfer and a front seat passenger were transported by Washington County Ambulance Service to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Based on the circumstances no citations were issued, though crash information was sent to the Iowa Department of Transportation for re-evaluation. Washington County Rescue, Brighton Fire and QRS, and Moore’s Towing Service also assisted at the scene.
