An Ottumwa woman has been given a suspended prison sentence for a Washington County drug conviction.

Court documents show 33-year-old Kolette Christine Daniels pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of possession with intent to deliver five grams or less of methamphetamine, a class C felony, and was given a suspended 10 year prison sentence to be placed on five years of probation. Daniels shall also be placed in a residential treatment facility and successfully complete that program when a bed becomes available. Until that time she shall remain in custody at the county jail. She must also pay a $1,000 fine with a 15% surcharge and Category B restitution.

Daniels was originally charged with possession with intent to deliver more than five grams of meth, a class B felony. She was arrested last August following a search warrant that was executed in October 2019 at her previous residence in Ainsworth where it was determined that she had been conspiring with Nicholas Dittrich and Curtis Cousins to distribute methamphetamine in southeast Iowa. Dittrich also pleaded guilty to the class C felony offense this December with sentencing scheduled for February. Cousins was sentenced to 210 months in federal prison last April for possession with intent to distribute meth and possession of a firearm.
