Three area wrestling teams competed and three individuals were crowned champions at the Anamosa girls tournament Monday.

The Washington Demons saw Teegan Sulentich climb to the top of the podium at 171 to 182lbs with her 2-0 night that included a major decision win in the championship bout over Libby Dix of Mount Vernon. Jillian Langstraat was also on the mat for the Demons and finished third in the 105 to 106lb division with a 1-2 night.

The WACO Warriors had a pair of champs at Anamosa. Heaven Steege won the title at 124 to 126lbs with a 3-0 night that included a 19 second pin in the title match over Carly Baumgartner of Linn-Mar. Grace Fort took the title at 167 to 170lbs with a matching 3-0 record, topping Delilah Maxfield of Bettendorf in the championship round. Bralyyn Wagler was runner-up for the Warriors in her weight class with a 1-1 night.

The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks had three runner-up finishes to lead the way. Ainsley Lueck was second at 128 to 129lbs, Marissa Cline was runner-up at 132 to 135lbs and Madison Kelly second at 140 to 145lbs. Grace Conway, Bronwyn Brenneman and Mia Garvey were all third.
