A Burlington man was arrested on felony drug charges following a foot chase in Winfield Tuesday.

A Henry County Sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop at approximately 9:14 p.m. on North Locust Street near the Casey’s General Store in Winfield for a traffic violation. After the vehicle came to a complete stop, two individuals exited the vehicle and fled the scene. Deputies pursued on foot and eventually apprehended the driver, who was identified as 38-year-old Brian Joshua Shouse. He was arrested and returned to the original scene. It was later confirmed Shouse’s driver’s license  was suspended and there were several active warrants for his arrest. 

Following a search of the vehicle, deputies found amounts of methamphetamine, individual plastic baggies, and drug paraphernalia. Shouse was arrested and charged with possession with intent to deliver more than five grams of methamphetamine, a class B felony; failure to affix drug stamp and possession of a controlled substance third or subsequent offense, both class D felonies; interference with official acts and possession of drug paraphernalia, both serious misdemeanors; driving while license is suspended, a simple misdemeanor; failure to obey a stop sign and yield right of way and failure to provide proof of financial liability. The second suspect is still at large. Anyone with information that could lead to the location of this individual, is asked to contact the Henry County Sheriff’s Office at 319-385-2712.
