Two schools in the KCII listening area meet tonight at Hillcrest Union when the Ravens entertain the Winfield-Mt. Union boys and girls in a Superconference doubleheader.

The Raven girls enter action with a 1-9 overall record, 0-6 in the Superconference. They were beaten at Lone Tree Tuesday 52-40. As a team the Ravens average 30 points while giving up 47, shoot 27% from the floor, 19% from three and 61% at the line. Individually, they are led by Esther Hughes 15 points, four rebounds, and three steals.

Winfield-Mt. Union is 10-2 overall, 7-1 in the Superconference North, in second place. They have won four games in a row including a 60-31 victory over Columbus Tuesday where four Wolves got to double figures. WMU scores 57 per game and gives up 28, Their 45% team field goal percentage is fourth in 1A. They shoot 29% from downtown and 54% at the line to go along with 34 rebounds, 13 steals, 13 assists and 13 turnovers per game. Individually, Bradie Buffington paces the Wolves at 16 points per game. Melina Oeping pulls down nine boards a night, Keely Malone is 10th in 1A with five assists per game.

In the boys contest, both teams are a combined 15-2 on the year with the Wolves holding first place in the Superconference at 7-0 and the Ravens in a tie for second at 6-1. Hillcrest has rattled off seven straight victories including a win Tuesday over Lone Tree on the road 66-44. The Ravens lead the Superconference at 58 points per game, 33% from long range, 15 assists and 10 steals per night. They are ninth in 1A with a 48% team field goal percentage. Individually Hillrest has Grant Bender leading the way with his conference best 21 points per game to go with seven boards. Luke Shrock leads the Raven guard court with three assists and two steals per night.

Winfield-Mt. Union took down Columbus Tuesday 64-11. WMU scores 57 points per game, giving up just 32. They shoot 48% from the floor, eighth in 1A, 34% from three, 10th in 1A and lead the conference with 31 rebounds, 15 assists and only nine turnovers per game. Cam Buffington leads the stat column averaging a double double 19 points and 10 rebounds. Andrew Brown is fifth in conference with four assists per night. Hillcrest has won nine straight at 25 of the last 28 between the two schools. The winner will have a share of first place in the conference standings.
