It was Cancer Awareness Night on the mat Thursday in Washington with the Demons hosting a quadrangular along with area schools Columbus Community/Winfield-Mt. Union and WACO as well as Southeast Conference foe Fort Madison. 

The Bloodhounds swept the quad by going 3-0 while the three area teams beat up on each other in a 1-2 night. Washington defeated WACO 42-39, but lost to Columbus 36-30 and Fort Madison 52-18. Aaron Boone and Brayden Hartman were the headliners winning all three of their contested matches. Boone stayed perfect on the season at 113 lbs with two falls in a combined 2:50 and a 4-0 decision. Hartman collected a 5-1 decision and two pins in 3:24 at 285 lbs. Two contested match winners included Chase Greiner at 160 lbs and Curtis Stender at 195 lbs. The orange and black finished 17-16 in matches on the evening. 

Outside of beating Washington, the Wildcats were on the short end against Fort Madison 57-21 and WACO 37-33. The team went 15-18 altogether with Lane Scorpil making quick work at 126 lbs with three pins that totaled 4:04. Multiple victories also came from Ty Scorpil at 113 lbs, Preston Prior at 120 lbs, Gerardo Orozco at 170 lbs, and Kai Malone at 220 lbs. 

WACO split with the two area schools and lost to Fort Madison 49-30. They went 15-23 in contested matches with three wins came from Gage Samo at 106 lbs (14-1 MD, fall :59, fall :43), Larz Smith at 145 lbs (fall 1:44, fall 2:56, 4-1 decision), and Jonah Clark at 220 lbs (fall 2:12, fall 1:47, fall 3:19). Louden Huisenga picked up two victories at 145 lbs. 

The Demons and Wildcats will compete in Riverside today and the Warriors have a tournament in Keosauqua.
