The Washington Fire Department has your lunch and supper taken care of Wednesday as their annual dine-in Pancake Day returns.
This will be the second year that the public can enjoy pancakes, eggs, and sausages inside the new fire station, and carry out will also be offered. Organizer and recently-retired full-time fire truck driver Joe Redlinger believes the specially prepared sausages and eggs and the large fluffy pancakes typically attract around 2,000 people, “What I like about the day is the community comes forward, and people when they’re in line they visit back and forth and so we feed a big percentage of our community that day.”
Food will be served from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. The public can get a $1 discount by purchasing their tickets in advance at the fire station, Federation Bank, Washington State Bank, or from any fire department member. Otherwise the cost during Pancake Day is $8 for adults, $6 for kids, and free for those five and younger. Proceeds help support the department.
