Agencies in Washington County responded to several vehicle incidents during Friday’s snow storm, with a couple resulting in hospitalizations.
At 12:21 p.m. the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Washington County Rescue, Washington County Ambulance Service, Washington County Rescue, and Washington Fire and EMS responded to a single vehicle rollover at Wayland Road and 295th Street. The driver reported having bruising and a bump on her head and was transported to Washington County Hospital and Clinics.
At 5:29 p.m. the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Keota Fire and QRS, Washington County Ambulance Service, and Moore’s Towing responded to a two-vehicle wreck near 1320 Highway 92. The sheriff’s office reports Shayla Woods of Keota was driving a Toyota Camry eastbound at speeds greater than reasonable. Woods hit an ice patch on the road causing her vehicle to veer out of control into the westbound lanes and directly into a westbound Ford F350 driven by Tracy Buehneman of Sigourney. The front of the pickup truck collided with the front and entire passenger side of the Camry. Charges are pending for Woods, who was transported to the University Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for non-life threatening injuries.
The Washington County Communications Center and other agencies responded to about 10 other vehicle incidents Friday.
