KCII area wrestling teams dominated the show Tuesday on Bob Hilmer Court at WACO High School as the Warriors hosted their annual home tournament. This event was scheduled for Saturday the 15th but was postponed due to weather.

Top area team finish came from the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks who were runners-up with their score of 138. Burlington Notre Dame won the overall title with 189 points. The Hawks crowned two champs on the night with Cael Garvey winning gold at 195lbs, beating Trent Wilkerson of New London by fall in the title match. Gannon Callahan won the title at 285lbs over Russel Coil of Columbus/Winfield-Mt. Union by fall. Mose Yoder at 106lbs and Terry Bordenave at 220lbs were both runners-up.

Columbus/Winfield-Mt. Union finished fourth with a score of 120.5 points. The Wildcats had one champion on the night with Lane Scorpil climbing to the top of the podium at 120lbs with a tech fall victory over Zach Harbison of Wapello in the finals. Ty Scorpil at 113lbs and Russel Coil at 285lbs were both runners-up.

WACO was sixth at their home tournament with 103.5 points. Jonah Clark was the winner at 220lbs for the Warriors as he topped Mid-Prairie’s Terry Bordenave by fall in the title bout. Louden Huisenga finished runner-up at 145lbs.

The Washington Demons were eighth at WACO Tuesday with 75 points. Aaron Boone won the title at 113lbs, beating Columbus/Winfield-Mt. Union’s Ty Scorpil by 8-2 decision. Chase Greiner was runner-up for the Demons at 160lbs.

The Highland Huskies were 10th with 45 points. Carlos Valenzuela had the high finish for Huskies, holding the runner-up spot at 132lbs.
