The Hillcrest Academy Raven boys and girls basketball teams travel to Wapello Monday for a makeup Superconference doubleheader with the Indians and Arrows. This set of games was originally scheduled for January 14th. The Hillcrest girls come into play at 1-11 after a 49-33 loss at Columbus Friday with Esther Hughes and Malia Yoder each scoring 12. On the year, Hillcrest scores 28 points per game and gives up 50. They shoot 27% from the floor with 24 rebounds, four assists and six steals per night. Individual leader is Hughes at 14 points, six rebounds, two steals and two assists per night.

Wapello is 7-8 this season. They lost to Highland Friday 57-17. This year the Arrows score 37 per game and give up 44, shooting 34% from the floor to go along with 27 rebounds, nine assists and 11 steals per game. Individual leader is Tatum Wolford at 11 points per game. Lindsy Massner averages eight boards while Serah Shafer has three steals and two assists per night. The Arrows have won 11 straight in the series including a 44-28 win in Kalona in Decmeber of this season.

The Hillcrest boys are 10-3 on the year after wins over Columbus and Bellevue Marquette Catholic over the weekend. Against the Mohawks Saturday, the Ravens took the contest 53-50 in overtime led by an 18 point, 17 rebound double double from Grant Bender. On the year, Hillcrest is scoring 53 points per game and giving up 40, shooting 48% from the floor to go along with 25 rebounds, 15 assists and nine steals. Bender averages a team best 20 points and seven boards per night. Luke Schrock paces the Raven guards with three assiss and two steals per game.

Wapello is 8-7 this year, knocking off Highland 53-41 Friday. The Indians score 44 points per game and give up 41, shooting 45% from the floor to go with 23 rebounds, 13 assists, and nine steals. Reigning conference player of the year Maddox Griffin leads the Indians with a double double average of 20 points and 10 rebounds per game along with six assists and five steals per night. These two teams have split their last six meetings with the Ravens getting the win in Kalona in December 51-43.
