The Columbus/Winfield-Mt. Union wrestling team traveled to Iowa City, City High Saturday for the Bean City Dual Tournament. The Wildcats went 1-4 on the day in five contests. The win for Columbus/Winfield-Mt. Union came against Keokuk 54-15. The Cats had wins in contested matches from Dante Zuniga at 145lbs by fall, Lane Genkinger at 160lbs by fall, Markel Zapiensz at 195lbs by fall, and Russel Coil at 285lbs by fall.

Columbus was beaten by Dubuque Hempstead 66-15. Wins for the Wildcats in contested matches came from Ty Scropil at 120lbs by fall, Markel Zapiensz at 195lbs by 9-7 decision and Russel Coil at 285lbs by fall. Mount Vernon beat the Wildcats 70-6. Ty Scorpil was a 7-0 winner by decision at 113lbs and Itai Zapiensz took his 285lbs match by 3-1 decision. Oskaloosa beat the Wildcats 68-9 with wins in contested matches for Ty Scorpil at 120lbs by fall and Kai Malone at 220lbs by 3-2 decision. Muscatine beat the Wildcats 42-16 with contested match wins for the Cats coming from Jacob Nelson at 106lbs by 10-2 major decision and Ty Scorpil at 120lbs by fall. After the 1-4 weekend the Wildcats have a season dual record of 11-14.
