The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk and Washington Demon archery teams put Ottumwa in their crosshairs Saturday at the Bulldog Bullseye and 3-D Tournaments.
Mid-Prairie finished second of five teams in the high school division of the bullseye shoot with their score of 3129 including 104 team tens. Cardinal won the event with a 3250. Zane Fisher won the boys individual championship with a 288 including 18 tens. Zoe Fisher was the top Mid-Prairie girl, finishing fourth on that side of the contest with a 280 that included 13 tens. In the 3D contest, the Golden Hawks were fifth of five schools with a 1481 team score. The Fishers led the way here as well with Zane shooting a 269 for top boys honors on the team, seventh overall and Zoe 258 for top girls honors, 13th overall.
The Golden Hawk Middle School squad finished with a 2824 team score in the bullseye contest, third of four schools and were led by boys individual event champion Elijah Statler with a 282 that included 15 tens. Lael Seale was the top girls shooter with a 262 that included seven tens finishing fifth in the overall girls contest. Middle School 3Ders were fourth of five schools with a 1454. Statler completed a sweep of the individual titles winning 3D gold with a 275 that included 13 tens. Seale was also the top girls finisher in 3D with a 237 that included seven tens to take 12th overall.
The Elementary Hawks won the bullseye event with a 2503. Morgan Northup was the boys meet champion to lead the way with a 252 including seven tens. Top elementary girl in bullseye for Mid-Prairie was Mya Brenneman with a 231 including three tens finishing fourth overall. For the elementary team in 3D, they did not post a team score and were led by Nickolas Peck at 196 with three tens for eighth in the overall contest.
The Washington Demons had a pair of individuals in the bullseye contest with Jonathan Moore finishing runner-up at the high school level with his score of 283 with 15 tens and Braydon Clough with a 259 including seven tens for ninth place at the middle school level. Those same two individuals participated in the 3D contest with Moore finishing third overall in the high school ranks with a 278 that included 15 tens and Clough with a 257 that included eight tens for sixth overall in the middle school contest.
