The Washington Public Library is residents’ venue for free cultural and educational events with a new program this week.

Library Director Cary Ann Siegfried shares about a new recurring series that’s open to anyone to present on their particular field of interest, “In February and the coming months we’re trying to do some of those recurring program series that are hopefully going to get people back in the library habit again. So one of those things that is premiering right now is what we’re calling a ‘Tuesday @ 2’ series that’s just kind of a fun, informational series that’s mostly for adults since it’s during the day at 2 p.m.”

The first Tuesday at 2 p.m. program being presented by Clyde Pearce on February 1st is titled “Ukuleles Are Unique,” and will be followed by a “Thursday Concert with Claire and Clyde” as Pearce will perform the ukelele with a local student at noon this week. The next Tuesday @ 2 event titled “From the Iowa Coal Mines to Broadway” by Dan Henderson takes place on February 22nd, and Siegfried welcomes anyone who would like to host their own presentation or perform a Thursday noontime concert to contact the library.
