A Mount Pleasant man was sentenced to prison for felony firearm and drug offenses last week.
Court documents show through a plea agreement 28-year-old Trey Alexander Lewis was sentenced to two five-year prison terms to run concurrently on charges of control of a firearm by a felon and possession with intent to deliver less than 50 kilograms of marijuana, both class D felonies. Lewis must pay $2,050 in fines, and was given credit for time already served. Judgment has not been entered on a separate charge of dominion of a firearm by a felon, a class D felony, two counts of child endangerment, an aggravated misdemeanor, and possession of a weapon while under the influence, a serious misdemeanor. Lewis conspired with another subject to sell marijuana at his residence at 800 North Palm Avenue in Mount Pleasant. In July of 2021, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office responded to multiple reports of a subject firing shots across the Skunk River by the dam at Oakland Mills Park. Lewis was seen entering a vehicle with two juveniles and started traveling northbound towards Mount Pleasant. Mount Pleasant police officers located and stopped the vehicle and were able to identify Lewis. The Henry County Sheriff’s Office later conducted a search warrant at Lewis’ residence where deputies located marijuana containers, baggies and a small amount of marijuana.
