Residents of Riverside and city officials have an opportunity to work together to design new community improvements with an Iowa Living Roadways Community Visioning Grant.

Through the Iowa Department of Transportation and Trees Forever, the city was awarded a $2,000 grant to bring in landscape architect interns from Iowa State University to help with transportation-related improvements. City Administrator Christine Yancey says they have formed a committee that will meet with the architects once a month. The committee includes Yancey, City Clerk Becky LaRoche, Mayor Allen Schneider, five community members and a facilitator from Trees Forever. Yancey says the city will host a focus group on Saturday, April 2nd for community members to come and give input on the proposed plans. All community members are encouraged to join the committee at their next meeting from 6-7 p.m. February 15th in the council chambers at city hall.
