Two Winfield residents were recently arrested on felony drug charges.

The Henry County Sheriff’s Office states at about 6:36 p.m. February 2nd, a sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop for a speeding violation near the intersection of 170th Street and Racine Avenue in Mount Union. The two occupants were identified as Nicholas Peek and Nolan Stearns, both 20 years old. During the traffic stop an odor of narcotics was detected coming from the vehicle. The deputy then searched the vehicle, eventually seizing marijuana, U.S. currency, and narcotic distribution materials. Peek and Stearns were arrested for possession with intent to distribute marijuana and tax stamp violations, both class D felonies. KCII will bring you more information as it becomes official.
