It is the second and most important meeting of the week for the Washington and Williamsburg girls’ basketball teams, as the two class 3A teams clash tonight in the first round of regionals.

These two programs met up in the regular season finale on Monday with the Raiders winning the postseason tuneup by a 54-26 final score. Williamsburg hit 11 threes with four a piece from Carly Rich and Taylor Winegarden. The Raiders are 12-9 and finished fifth in the WaMac-West Division. They put up 48 points a night with Rich leading the way collecting 11 points a ballgame. Washington is 3-17 and fifth in the Southeast Conference. They have averaged 31 points a contest with Alex Murphy accounting for 6.5 of them. The Raiders have won eight of the last 10 meetings dating back to 2008. 

The playoff action gets underway at 7 p.m. in Williamsburg and listen to it all on FM 106.1 KCII starting at 6:30 p.m.
