A Wellman man was arrested Monday for allegedly burglarizing a Wellman business this month.

Twenty-one year-old Trevor Devon Miller was arrested on warrants for third-degree burglary, a class D felony, fourth-degree theft, a serious misdemeanor, and fifth-degree criminal mischief, a simple misdemeanor. Court documents show that the Washington County Sheriff’s Office was informed of a burglary on February 14th at 252 8th Avenue. The business owner showed a sheriff’s deputy the kitchen area of the business where there was a broken window and glass observed across the sink, table, and floor. Outside the building below the window there was a broken snow shovel, and more broken glass with a long blonde hair that was found and collected as evidence. A security camera that covers the back patio, rear entrance, and kitchen window was unplugged and about $800 was missing from a safe.

Camera footage from neighboring businesses showed a Jeep that was determined to belong to Miller driving in the area of the business at 12:38 a.m. that day. Miller was an employee of the business and knew the safe combination. After multiple interviews with Miller, he agreed to return the money taken to the owner on February 15th and warrants were then requested for his arrest. Bond was set at $6,300.
