The Mid-Prairie School District held a special election March 1st for a pair of public measures involving a bond issue and the Debt Service Levy for the district. Voter turnout numbers from the district showed that fewer than one in five registered residents participated. In Washington county 874 total votes were cast, from more than 4,500 registered voters for a 19.2% participation rate. Johnson county was slightly lower with 143 of 854 registered voters filling out ballots for a 16.7% participation rate. Iowa County had the largest percentage turnout of the three counties,  with 30 ballots cast of 128 registered voters, or about 23.4%. Of the 5,535 registered voters in the district 1,068 or 19.2% went to the polls.

While both measures received majority support, they fell short of the necessary super majority for adoption.
